Hi,

I made http install and i found tht when downloading the first screen of the installer ,has a long time of supposily doing nothing.

when you download a screen displaus , severingthings are downloaded these steps are going just fine but when the installer starts it takes like 4 to 5 minutes before something hapens . If you click the next button the screen geays. I fyou wait long enough then the next screen appears.

But it takes to long . Users see a message in the screen , te screen doesnot respond. So they tend to shut down the installer and donnot install the software .

Has anyone of you had this problem. I donnot do anything extraordinary? The programm is quite big it is like 180 mb.

If I download a normal zip file it is way faster but then I donnot have the update features whitch I like.

Hi

Does anuoneknow if it is possible to make a normal zip and let people downoload that zip to install the programm and still have the auto update feature?

I am experiancing an other issue with the http Install. I cannot get it to include the hyperfile cs. At first this worked but now it skips this . This rsuts in a download that installs without the hyperfile cs and thus I cannot run

The auto update is a very useful feature which I have used extensively.

I've been having a problem with the Windev 19 installer which also involves timeouts. I have a posting on this a few weeks ago.

In my case I can create the installer under Windev 18 and it uploads quite happily to my web site. If I then recompile the same code and create an installer under Windev 19 it times out when you press either the Test or Load button with a 'Not responding' error. The Task Manager also shows this. None of the networked computers in the office will run the install but if I take it to an older Windows 7 computer outside our network then it will load (but painfully very slowly).

I am on Windows 8.1 64 bit. And the other computers are quite recent as well.

I just hope that this is not due to a Microsoft update somewhere.

There was an issue with Windev 18 which I had problems with a while ago and they did produce a fix for it. The installer messed around with the version numbers meaning that it would not update older versions. There was also a problem with code signing that they also fixed.

I now make an instal without hyperfile cs. This is way faster.
