Hi

Is there something available whereby the development time on a project is logged automatically?

Not just something that records how long the project is open but actual time spent on development.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ericus

Please define "actual time spent on development"...

When I stare at my code to find a bug and do not touche the keyboard for 5 minutes, is that time spent on development?

When I think before I write an algorithm, therefore not touching the computer, is that time spent on development?

How do your hypothetical tool decide?

Best regards

Hello Ericus

There is a time management optin in the project tab of the Windev IDE. That may be of some use, but for me it is the first thing I turn off after a Windev installation <img src="/NG2013_WEB/ui/smiley/1.gif" align=absmiddle border=0 alt=":)">

Thanks Al

I am going to give it a go and see how it goes.

Fabrice

Granted you are still working on the project but this tool is for my own use to determine how much time I spend on various projects. When I analyse the time spent I will know for myself whether I was actually working or just leaving the project page open.

I haven't tried these, but one of them may be suitable:
TimeSprite
ManicTime

From a similar discussion on DonationCoder.

Hi,

I used this option a few years ago and found that the results were completely unrealistic (perhaps because of migrations).
On some elements I supposedly worked for years.
So yes, I turn it off too, also because it was rather intrusive.
