Task List

I want to set up a task list for myself so I can keep track of what I need to do and what is left to do.
The help says to use the "Task List" pane for the list.
I can't find a link to a "Task List" pane.
Do I need to use Groupware to do this?
I program alone so I feel I don't need groupware.
What am I missing?
