Menu Control On Click Events

I have recently upgraded to webdev 27 for a big project i am using a menu control that has worked perfectly fine.

when i upgrade the menu control click events no longer get called in the box on the menu it only calls when the mouse is on the text this is made even worse when the text is smaller from the hover effect on menus.

does anyone know how to make the menu control work like it did in webdev 25/26 so it uses the whole box
