I'm trying to make a small app that allows the user to select a background and then draw over it on a separate 'layer', so that the lines drawn on the overlay can be erased without affecting the background image. Ideally I'd like to save the overlay without the background. I understand to erase an image with a white background using a white pen, but not sure how to do this using transparent images, and how to save them as transparent.

I'm using the 'Notes' demo app that comes with Windev to test, and have added a base image under the drawing image, and some code to hide/show the base image on the control, but the two images are merged after the first draw.

I expect the users to need to correct mistakes frequently - maybe a 'undo' button would be better than erase.

Thanks for any tips
