The reason I need this is twofold. 1.We run servers with multiple client data bases on the same mssql server, the clients connect to a control database that will then automatically get their settings on which data base to connect to. 2. The control data base also has a common email file that holds all the advance shipping notices for all users and sends them using a window service. Also I cannot seem to find how you can change the SQL server name as this is not known at the time of creating the software, if the client has their own sql server we just attach the database to it and edit our connect string which is in an INI file.
