Questions about User Reports and Queries

I am considering installing User Reports and Queries in my client's application. The key users are not programmers and I am interested in anyone's experience with not technical people using this. How difficult is it for non-technical users to learn to use the editors? Is the help useful or do they need intense training:?

Any advise from your experice would be greatly appreciated,

Hi Jeff, we distribute a program for customized reporting from an accounting application. We extract data from there to our own HFSQL database. Reports are created using scripts. All of our clients give us the specification, and we produce a report script to include in their installed program. To date, none of our users have asked for any help creating their own reports, they are more than happy to have us do the work for them.

To create reports successfully and efficiently, the user would need:
- an understanding of accounting concepts (we are both accountants)
- a knowledge of the accounting program API
- a good knowledge of the core accounting program
- experience with Windev's SQL, and SQL in general
- a knowledge of our program's database structure and content
- experience with R&Q (considerable learning curve I'm sure you'll agree)

I don't expect any such requests from users any time soon!

Hi Mike, thanks for your comments. I think I will limit their access to only simple reports that are used as a template for correspondence since most are complex.
