We're looking for "plug-ins" (perhaps ActiveX/COM components) that
can be inserted within Windev to provide more extensive and flexible
reporting needs.
We've used Crystal Reports and VB6 and that has worked well, but we'd
like to use another package that has a smaller overhead (in terms of
supporting software DLLs, etc..)
The one requirement is that the plug-in we're looking for must be a
a 32-bit Active-X component. I've written a few of these for Windev
and they work beautifully - a reporting package which hooks into
Windev through an ActiveX control would be great.

Hi Kevin,
You could try List & Label (
http://www.combit.com/
)
or Virtual Print Engine (VPE) from Ideal Software (
http://www.idealsoftware.com/
).
Regards,
Chris

Thankyou.
Someone mentioned a German package to me a few months back,
but I forgot the name of it.
End-users are allowed to dynamically modify the reports
without a run-time licensing fee.
Perhaps you've heard of it.

List & Label is difficult to implement. Much better to use the user query and reporting tool from PCSoft.
I looked at L&L but still have not implemented after 2 years and now have Version 9 possibley for sale. Version 10 is latest

Thankyou all.
Intelliview is nice, but limited to the data sources.
List & Labels is complicated (in comparison to Crystal Reports) to use.
For now, we'll stick with Crystal Reports since we've been able to
call its report viewer from within WinDev with ActiveX technology
very nicely.
