replaced with
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN">

This code is generated if you check the HTML optimization option "respect the "transitional W3C" standard" and it makes it impossible to use a drop down menu that can be read by google.
