I am investigating several RAD tools and I must say that Windev is at the top of my list. However, I was wondering if there is a way to get a trial copy or demo of the software to try out before diving in and making the purchase. Does anyone know?
Also, this forum seems to be the only resource I have found for getting information about Windev other that PC Soft's site (www.windev.com) and the 50 page brochure. Is there any other information out there? For example, the W-Language, is there a reference tool online somewhere to review the language?

Hi Jack,
Unfortunately there isn't an English trial version yet. On the PCSoft real home page (http://www.pcsoft.fr/) wich contains a lot more information (in French only but you can try to use an automated website translation tool if required) you can request a French demonstration CD of WinDev 7.5. Maybe you can get into contact with the sales department by e-mail and check if they are planning to distribute this also in English if you don't master the French language.
There are numerous websites dedicated to WinDev with discussion fora, source codes, tips & tricks, but... most of them are only in French.
One other good resource is http://www.windevasso.org/cgi-bin/gespage.exe… which is originally a French website but most stuff is translated into English as well. Another English resource is http://www.xs4all.nl/~petervu/ .
PCSoft also has some newsgroups with regards to their product offerings in different languages. You can access these newsgroups via news.pcsoft.fr .
