Hello
Is it possible to make a hyperfile based on a specified lay-out?
I mean: the lay-out of a data-base is written out in a txt-file or Excell-file.
So I wonder if it is possible to read out the file and make a new hyperfile based on the description from the txt-file or Excell-file. The data is in an other file.
eg.: fieldname - beginposition-lenght
Naam.............1...12
Voornaam....13...12
Adres...........25...25
Postcode......50....4
Gemeente....54...15
...
I hope you all understand what I'm trying to do.

Hello David,
Open your analysis, select create new file and in the Wizard you can choose to import from a text file. I haven't tried it myself, but you can always see where you get.
Best regards,
Piet

Oh that's something I already tried and with succes. But this time I need to let WinDev create the hyperfile automatically by reading a text-file with the specified lay-out. I guess it's wishful thinking? Isn't it??

I'm not giving up hope to find what I'm looking for

David
