Hello Everyone,

I am an old user of Windev (windev v12 only) and have been off development for a while. I am considering getting back but I am not too sure of a few things and thought I will post them and get some help.

I have used MySQL in previous desktop applications with windev. How easy would it be to work with MySQL in WebDev 20? What do you recommend, HFSQL or MySQL?

How easy is it to host webdev applications. Will I need specific ISP who supports WebDev? What are the options and cost comparison.

Can I reuse code developed in windev in Windev mobile and Webdev without having to recreate the whole development project?

Lastly how well does webdev implement SaaS? What are the strengths and weaknesses?

Best regards,

Sam

It's easy enough to use ANY DB with webdev, but I still reccomand HFSQL,
if only because with that DB, when you change the analysis, the files
are modified automatically for you.

who supports WebDev? What are the options and cost comparison.

Yes, you need a specific ISP -IF- you buy a shared hosting. You can of
course rent any dedicated server anywhere and install webdev server
($$$) on it.

AFAIK, prices start at 5€/month for a small shared plan (kalanda.net)

Can I reuse code developed in windev in Windev mobile and Webdev without
having to recreate the whole development project?

Yes. Everything that is not UI related can be reused easily.

Best regards
