How to manage communication/replication/synchroisation in Windev

I am new to Windev and I have to develop an app for a client in the clothing apparel industry. They have stores/branches around the country and they have one headoffice. I don't have a problem creating the BACKOFFICE and POS systems independantly but i don't know what to use or how to set about creating the link between the POS and BACKOFFICE.How do i dial and link to my HF C/S database and synchronise or replicate i don't know which one to use or if they are the same thing. I cannot find any resources in the tutorials or the online help that articulates the entire process from connecting, transferring data and disconnecting from the server or client. Communication will be through the telephone line and all the machines are running Windows OS.Please can someone give some advice on how this is done and if there is any extensive material in Windev that explains these concepts.
