Hi All
Just thought I would share this. I downloaded this HelpNDoc help arthuring software that was mention on this forum a few days back and I just had to leave this feedback. This is probably the easiest help tool I have ever used. This help tool was so easy to get working and incorporated into my application it was pathetic. It toke me all of 10 minutes to create my first help project and get it into my app and start using it. The website is http://www.helpndoc.com If you have been looking for a good help tool that is really easy to include in your WD app and has lots of features you should really check this one out. Hope this info is was helpful.

Hi John,
Yes, I started a thread a few days ago on HelpNDoc as it was massively reduced on the BitsDuJour web site.
I looked into HelpNDoc a year or so ago but decided to go for Dr.Explain instead as it seemed to have the edge based on what I wanted from a Help system, but it sounds like the H'n'D people must have been busy... ;)
Cheers...

We use HelpNDoc as our primary authoring system and have for about 4 years. Very happy with the product and the developer continually makes improvements.

I gave HelpNDoc a quick try (about 25 min.)

This is my first impression:

I could download a german dictionary easily, which is nice. But the readme didn't tell me where to put it. I had to find out by myself.

The Microsoft Help Workshop couldn't be found at the first compile but there was a link (which is nice again). After installing the HTML Help Update I got this message:

Anyway, at the next compile run anything was ok with the CHM file.

Although I renamed the topics in the treeview they where printed whith the original names in the PDF file. See

The PDF file itself looked messed up because it was printed without correct right margin. Maybe this is because I changed the fonts in the General Properties. See here:

I couldn't find a template or something to do a cell with a special hint. I tried to use a table instead, but it looks horrible. See the table at the bottom of the last link.

In my opinion something like cells with 'important things to know' is essential for a good help doc.

That was the point where I dismissed. Maybe I will take a closer look when I'm in need of something like this.

Hi Sebastian,
Nice review - perhaps you could do the same for the new version of Dr.Explain? [[5]]
I'd kind of wondered how they compare as they were both packages I looked at about a year ago :)

Dear all,
Today if i made any change in one section of my hnd file, i am generating html documentaion for whole file.I am deleting my old hnd contents and replacing new contents which is not good.

Is there any way that i can convert only some section where i have made changes?

Thanks in advance,
Rajasekhar
