Hi all
I seem to remember reading on this forum about a product which allows desktop apps to be published over the net - kind of like Clarionet did for Clarion. A poor man's Citrix so to speak.
Does anyone remember such a product - if so I'd be grateful for a link or it's name.

Hi
I use TSPlus for my VFP applications hosted on our servers. It works well and means all my applications can be accessed via Remote Desktop or web browser without installing anything on the clients computers. I was going to develop some web applications but now I do not need a web app because my desktop application is my web app.

Do you know if TSPlus supports drag and drop from client machine TSPlus session? Their demos don't (but this could just be configuration on their end) and my inquiry to their sales department was never answered (which isn't necessarily a good sign IMO) |

Hi Simon,
That is very interesting. Have you found any serious limitations in TSPlus?
Best regards Ola |

Hi Steve,
TSPlus does not support drag and drop from the client to the server vice versa. This has nothing to do with TSPlus but with RDP. Cut and Paste works fine.
Best regards,

Hi
I have not found any serious limitations. The browser access works well and you have the ability to print to pdf and upload and download files. You can customize the web portal and create web logins that can be mapped to Windows users. You can shadow the sessions which we use a lot for training. You can create personalized portable remote desktop clients so that the user just runs the "exe" and it logins into the app without them having to enter the IP address or user and password. They can put this on a USB stick and have a portable connection to the server.
Copy and Paste is the way to transfer files to and from the server as drag and drop does not work but this is the same for regular remote desktop connections.
The only thing I have discovered is that occasionally an update can break something. Usually the tech-support has a fix and everything is good again. To avoid this I do not update immediately but wait a little to see if there are any issues. Other than that I am completely happy with the product and I do not have to buy Terminal Services licenses because the terminal server is not installed.
I now have 3 Windows 2012 servers running this product and plan to convert several other servers in the near future.
