Hi,
alpha360 magazine is an electronic "Magazine" - delivered as a pdf and a WX project - that focuses (on each issue) on a specific WINDEV, WEBDEV, and WINDEV MOBILE topic.
It is independent of our alpha360 project.
The projects, the code and the techniques in the magazine can be used by ANY WX project.

The first issue will have the following contents:
1. Implementing a GLOBAL connection manager for your applications.
* Stop distributing database passwords or IPs/Ports to your users, allow access to multiple databases and a lot more ...
2. MySQL, HFSQL Classic and HFSQL C/S connections within the same application.
3. Upgrade your HFSQL Data to a MySQL Database or vice versa - directly from your application.

You can find more information about the magazine and its availability at:
https://www.alpha360.biz

Hi Steven

sounds like a very good idea... I just hope you'll get enough subscribers to make it worth your while...

Keep us posted

Hi Fabrice,
We are trying to avoid all the wrong decisions we made with the WINDEV alpha360 Open Source version.
In contrary to the alpha360 commercial versions, which are doing just fine, the Open Source version was a total failure. We never got ANY single code/bug contribution from the thousand developers that downloaded it.
So now the projects will be in French and English, the PDFs (English) will be easily translatable by Google translate (without the need of an OCR app) and we will have projects from v17 and up.
Let's see how it goes ...

If it has any real success I will definitely ask you to do the replication issue :)

Probable reason for this may be because the lowest version of WX supported was 21 or higher.

I think if the lowest version something like 17 then you would have definitely received many suggestions and code updates from developers like me. ;)

The problem with that approach is that a lot of the potential suggestions/questions/updates would have already been solved/available in v21.
There is a world of difference in the functionality of v21 when compared to v17.

I appreciate that not everyone chooses of can afford to upgrade annually but any software intended for production/instruction should IMHO use the latest IDE available wherever possible.
