Hello,
I need a tip or an idea, so if someone has something practical, I'll be grateful. To make it clearer what this is about, I will cite an example: The company has multiple stores around the country, and all stores use the same master data (customers, suppliers, items, item groups, etc.), but they have their own databases (HFSQL). The current solution is to run data synchronization either from headquarters or stores, and retrieve new data if it exists. It works by collecting data in the query, changing connection to selected database and adding records that do not exist. This solution works OK, but only when data amount is small, and where frequent data updates are not necessary. However now the amount of data has increased too much to apply this method. Operators would have to run multiple data synchronizations during the day which would slow down business. Is there a way to allow all stores to access these master data files on the main server and behave like they are in local network without losing speed? Kind Regards, Sead |

Hi Sead,
A correctly managed replication system does NOT slow down anything. You have a full example in my WXReplication open source project, available on my web site, along with about 8 hours of video explaining all the ins and outs and 30+ pages of explanation, with one specific article begin a step by step guide on how to transform a 'regular' project (ie your current project) into a replicating one.

Hi Fabrice
Just check your PDF download. Maybe it is damaged because on my side it can't be opened.

Hi Ericus
thank you for the information...
For some strange reason, the file arrives as a zip even though it's simply a NON ZIPPED pdf...
As I don't have the time to find the bug and correct it right now, please just change the extension to pdf.
Be aware that this file is only the presentation file I use as a skeleton for my presentation of the project. It is the LEAST useful file of all I'm providing. I strongly suggest that you watch the videos instead... you'll see every slide of the pdf on your screen, but you will have all the needed explanations with them.
Best regards |
