WebDev 14 MySQL Native Access, WD14Admin not started?

I have a bunch of MySQL files that have been imported into my analysis.
I am using native access and have the connection to the server set up in the analysis for each file.
When I test the connection all is well.
But when I run the program I get the following message when I try to access the first dynamic page, the static home page starts as it should.
Here is the message: "The administration service of WebDev (WDq40Admin) was not started.
(0012, ERR_NO_WWADMIN)"
I don't understand why it is asking for the service since I am not using Hyperfile.
What am I missing?

Hi Rich
the message is not talking about hyperfile, it is talking about WEBDEV, and more particularly about the webdev SERVER/ENGINE called wd140admin.exe... Without it, not webdev site can work. On your dev machine, it's the 10 connection free server, and in deployment it's the $$$$ illimited connection server.
If for whatever reason it did not start automatically (which it should), I would advise FIRST that you restart your machine to see if it can restart correctly next time. SECOND, if it couldn't, go in the tools menu of webdev and start it from there
best regards

Fabrice,
Thanks for the answer, it is now working :)
I guess your use of $$$$ in your answer means when I deploy the site I will need to send more money to PCSoft?

Hi rich
that's a good guess...Except of course if your user are less than 10 at any give time, in which case you can use the free/trest server... otherwise, you'll have to buy the webdev deployment engine (one per server, not per web site), or pay for a hosting plan on a shared server running it...
Best regards

Fabrice,
Ok, so what it is only money :rp:
I will just build it into the cost of the program.

Well, the WebdDev App Server is cheap if you think about is per server.
With 1 Webdev App Server in one server, can run many sites (as far as server hardware can support it)

If you are going to purchase the WebDev Application Server - think about which version you need / want. The Linux version does not support all the functionality and is a pig to instal. In fact I have not got it working at all and given up and purchased the windows version instead.
If you want a Linux version (going cheap) drop me a line.

Mark,
Thanks for the offer, but no thanks!
I plan on having my app hosted by a service that can handle MySQL. Do I also need to install the Application Server on their host?

Yes you do.
Bob Stratton of Oxford Support has a server that can host WebDev sites commercially.
We are hoping to have our own up and running soon. The plan was to possibly resell capacity on it to developers but until we better understand the permissions and configuration we will keep it internal.
