I want to by one copy of windev 7.5 in english language...
But I don´t know where I found it.
I work today with Clarion 5.5

Interesting, I have seen others go from Clarion to WinDev, but have yet to
see the other way around. I wonder why? I am about to launch a new web
site where Developers write reviews of interest to other Developers. The
site is: DeveloperReviewed.com and one of the first reviews to be featured
is on Clarion. I know having used Clarion for some time that it doesn't
easily use ActiveX controls, but it seems from the WinDev web site that WD
does work with ActiveX controls. How well does it work with them? For
instance, has anyone every tried using ActiveSkin from
http://www.softshape.com with WinDev? It works quite well and easily with
VB - (I haven't tried it yet with Delphi) but can't get it working at all
with Clarion. There are a lot of third party tools for Clarion, templates.
Are there similar third party products for WinDev and if so what are they
called? I know ActiveX for VB and VCL for Delphi. Is there something
similar for WinDev - or not needed because of the ability to use ActiveX?
I would be very interested in hearing what users of WinDev think about it -
either good or bad. I think the Dongle is pretty unpopular, but are the
other problems or issues that someone might keep in mind when considering
WinDev? If English speaking is there any real language barriers in either
learning WinDev or getting technical support?

Hi,
I am considering moving from Clarion to WinDev, but have a few questions -
perhaps someone can help me out.
1) Is the visual query editor available to my users in the standard package?
2) Is the report generator also available to my users?
In other words how can I get around the need to allow my users to create
their own (simple) report layouts and queries? (I currently use some Calrion
add-ons: Query Wizard & Report Wizard from nicetouch.com)
Also,
If I place HyperFile or mySQL data on a remote machine, can that data be
accessed in client/server mode by a WinDev application running on a client
machine that is connected to the internet with a broadband connection? Will
it perform well? I suppose it should do because it will be client server, so
most of the time only a small amount of data has to be sent down the phone
line....
Finally, allthough Clarion can be a fron end to MS-SQL server, or mySQL, it
isn't easy to port applications across. In fact its a bitch.......
