Hello personal and professional Win(ning)Dev(elopers),
I am reaching the point to make the decision to switch from Magic8.3 to WinDev7.5 (or  . For a smoothly gradual conversion I want to start developing the maintenance programs of the base files (e.g debtors, equipment etc.) in WinDev, integrate them in Magic (or Magic in WinDev) untill the complete system is written in WinDev with the HyperFile DataBase. The 'only' problem is how to get the data out of the existing Pervasive transactional (Btrieve) files to work during a period with both programs on a properly way with on both sides a good performance. Who have the experience with one of more of the following solutions and can give me a 'performance' indication? And maybe better solutions?!
- the Btrieve files remains and will be accessed by WinDev through ODBC
- the Btrieve files will be (temporarily) converted to MySQL and WinDev will access natively, while Magic will use ODBC
- the Btrieve files will be (permanent) converted to HyperFiles and will be accessed by Magic through ODBC
