Hello,
would it be possible to let us know when will be ready english version of WinDev 20 and if we order now version 19 if the upgrade is for free?

you may want to ask these questions to pcsoft... Here, you are on the
USER forum 
So, from a USER perspective, US version is generally available in late
april or may. As for the license, if you order a french licence now, it
is already a 20, and is legal for any 19 (or below), FR or US

Hi Fabrice,
thank you for your quick reply! I am new to WinDev and so to this forum. I have read "Forums charter" but it was not clear to me and it is still not 100% clear to me why is it good to have two communication channels "USER forum" and "direct free PC soft support". I think it is a pity because a lot of informations will get lost because as far as I understand "direct PC soft support" is not public(?)
I would like to ask (I hope I can on this thread) what posts should I send here? If I will have a real problem with WinDev I should probably prefer to contact "PC soft support"(?) If yes, should I then to copy the solution of my problem to this forum? For example if I will ask PC soft how is it with upgrade, should I publish their answer here? And vice versa, so that developers knows what is hapenning? I am little bit confused...

Hi Petr
I can not tell you what you SHOULD do as there is no fixed rules at that
level except one :PCSOFT DOES NOT ANSWER HERE (well to be exact, they do
answer here VERY RARELY, when there is an urgent need)
So if you have a question to other users, or if you want to publish
something useful for other users, this is the right place
If you have a question that only pcsoft can answer (ie sales, futur or
the product, etc), then you should contact them by the appropriate
channel (call the sales people, free technical support, email, etc)
Now, most of the time (and that is especially true when you are a
beginner), a REAL PROBLEM with windev should be solved by (that is the
FASTEST way, in my experience) :
- searching in the help
- searching on the forum (most of those cases have been answered again
AND again) and/or google
- asking on the forum, with a clear description of the problem, the
corresponding code and error message
- and if all that doesn't work, asking the free technical support (and
at that point, sending them a small project/window/page isolating the
problem)

I would like to share an information that I have got from PC soft support, that WinDev 20 English version should be around May 2015 but there is no official date yet. And it should be possible to get it for free if you buy WinDev 19 now. |
