Hi,
I'm sorry that I have to bother you guys with my frustrations, but I need to get this of my chest  A continuing pain is the use of a template that has a dropdown menu on it. These menus randomly drop down BEHIND controls. I tried endlessly to put the menu in the foreground but there seems no way to effectively control the z-order if a template is involved. (Except for overloading the menu, but that will entail other problems) In most cases it helps to uncheck "the control can be overlaid" option of a control that appears in front of the menu and then check it back on. Why? It beats me. Or just the reverse, it's just a gamble. The move up and down options have a random effect in these cases. Sometimes controls even become invisible. So I end up randomly changing order and overlay properties until the menu shows properly.
I'm getting sick and tired of having to check all pages because of a randomly occurring z-order problem that I cannot handle properly. Is there no z-order property that I can set directly without the use of the obscure up-down options? And what does re-initialize the z-order do? Webdev, potentially brilliant, but sometimes it sucks.
Regards, Piet |
