I have run into another Dashboard control bug. One of my internal widget windows has a comboBox that I initialize with a value at startup. It works fine when I run just the internal widget window, but when I run the full program the comboBox comes up blank no matter what I try.
I know there is a contact form on their website, but I figured I would get the opinion of a veteran or two before I fired away. |

Hi Curtis
the best way is to use the tool available from the windev menu (to contact the support) and to always give detailed information and join a small example (window or project)
Best regards |

Hi Curtis,
Yep, use the tool and add a sample project showing the issue with clear instructions. Usually you'll get a reply either: - saying they can't replicate your issue - asking for more information - a possible work around - a solution - a bug confirmation number within 48 to 60 hours...
In case of a bug, in general your request or bug number ends up in the huge PCSoft support black hole and you'll be a mushroom for the rest of your WX live. You know, those things they feed with shit and that are constantly kept in the dark.
On top of that, this bug is kept in the PCSoft black hole with a restricted 'Top Secret' stamp all over it so no other WX developer will ever find out about it. And should he or she bump into the same bug, he will have to go through the exact same procedure as all the others have done before him.
What a waste of effort on both sites...
But hey, welcome to the club Curtis!
Cheers,
Peter H. |

I can confirm Peter's findings. Still waiting on more than a couple bugs we've reported and proven to these guys.
Best thing to do is find a work around. Also, stay away from any new features/controls for a couple versions - it seems new stuff is done to get it on their new list of "9xx New Things In WX!" |
