there are less girls now and you can find some men too ...
page 13 "Télémétrie" and following is interesting. If I understand it right, it tells me, how many users are using a certain application, what is the "hit list" of the windows, what are the encountered errors, time of usage and many things more. Does that need a new user agreement? Certainly. But it is very interesting. See page 15, all about the users, the databases etc. this is breath-taking info about the application in the field any software would like to have.
[42] Support for high-res monitors for the devloper's environment. Imho missing: the Multi-View feature of WINDEV Mobile for showing different layouts / styles / skins for different use cases. Definitely, the 8pt fonts of the standard skins are much too small for a production environment (e.g. in the nutrition industry) but within an office environment 8pt font size may be fine.
[55] If I understand it right, now you can create your own styles easier via a generator. Which was missing all the time ...

Indeed a lot of cosmetic stuff...
The most valuable enhancements imho:
- WEBDEV -> Responsive UI Design (Allows to create one page for any screen size/resolution)
- WDWBWM -> Conditional code by coding instead of through the UI which crashes all the time
What I am still missing:
- WDWBWM -> As I have developed some WLanguage code generators over time, the ability to save this into a file instead of having to copy/paste all the time...

There is one absolute "killer" feature that may force me to upgrade this time:
The possibility to make round buttons and images - WOW!
This is what I have been eagerly waiting since version 5.5!
But I am still missing animated round entry controls that change color and position automatically, preferably at random. Mayhap I'll wait for these to be announced first before upgrading:rp:

No French spoken here but usually there is at least one item that looks interesting although it has to be said that they do not always perform as advertised.
This time nothing, even the French readers here have only managed to find a couple of things - neither of which are whetting my appetite.
Maybe they have spent so much time and resource fixing the long standing 'features list' that insufficient time was available for the new 'must have'.
In the past, since 5.5, I have always upgraded - could this be the year I save 1000 euros? |

As usual, the marketing approach of 921 new features is pure joke but from my point of view ( french native speaker  ), this version seem to be a good one.
Several very good new features : Responsive, GPS tracking in background, Field Workflow, PDF Signed, Planning Field for Mobile, round image, Camera Field for mobile, ...

disappoint upgrade for android . very small improvement
what don't have
- fselect()
- NetMACAddress()
- HTTP.IgnoreError
- shape controls
- report

The fact that one can make responsive websites is great!!
This alone is a selling point for webdev. With this I can make websites for clients. Now days everybody wants responsive sites.
I am wondering if the dashboard of webdev can be responsive as well?
I donnot speak french but I can read it a bit. Correct me if Iam wrong but does the php modus of webdev now supports graphs as well? That would be great as well!!
windev 21 has some cool features as well. what I Miss is the pivot ability in a table. Or the ability to edit data in a pivot or the ability to be able to select a cell and based on that get what record it is. So one could give the user the ability to do analyse in the pivot and then drill down to the actual data to be able to change something.
But over all Iam very pleased with the new features.

I most likely will drop wd21 upgrade . every years pc-soft bring alot of goodies to windev but time had changed , customers don't want to spend money to develop or upgrade new /existing windows application . whether government/private sector, most prefer web / ios /android .
to tell the true , i don't have windows application that i develop using wd19 or wd20 .
but I confirm will continue upgrade to WM21 |

I can't understand why they do not develop a table control merging spreadsheet and WD table. There are several activex, web/.net grid controls on the third party market that teach how a good grid control has to be. Take the cheap source code for sale of farpoint or similar tables and clone it in WD ide...
I expected spreadsheet control export fixed and improved... And The name of a table passed as parameter to the query editor.. Considering that in wd20 you can have parameters even on the limite classe why not on table name? And what about limitations about editing the theta join? And the buggy ide that stalls or clashes often if user with double monitor.. All these should be upgrades of wd20 instead of new features of v21 |
