There may be other ways, but I found a hint online and it is working well for me.
1. Load the Hasp drivers on both the host and client. 2. In the client, click the USB icon on the bar below the running Windows VM and then select the USB entry which will be labeled something like "AKS Hasp ..." before running WinDev so that the client session owns that USB port.
