Hi all,
I have an issue that grows worse every time a new version of an WinDev 20 project is generated from my development machine to the LAN server.
The time it takes for the setup procedure to generate a new install.exe version on the server grows with every generation and has now reached a point where it has become unworkeable : 2,5 HOURS to generate an new version of the INSTALL.EXE and another 1.5 HOURS after I click the 'Done' button of the setup wizard.
I can see the memory useage of the setup program slowly but steadlily climbing to +/- 320 MB before the first step ('Preparing the files to install') will get reported as finished. This alone will take up to 1 hour !!!
Memory useage then drops to almost 0 just to start climbing again (and even more slowly) back up to to +/- 320 MB to finish the other setup steps, which takes 1.5 to 1.75 hours.
When clicking 'Done' I can install the new version on the server by running the install.exe, but for some obscure reason the setup program continues for 1.5 hours more apparently doing nothing but gobbling up memory. Even when I disconnect from lan and I go home the setup simply continues and finishes after +/- 1.5 hours.
Development under WinDev 20 on Windows 10, server running the application is Windows 2012 R2 with 12 Gb of memory.
Connection is made over wired ethernet.
The installer is only a meagre 224 kb of size, the executable itself 15 Mb.
