Hello,
One of my clients want to use Postgresql with Windev. As I'm new to both I couldn't recommend straight away.
Would like to know, any issues, if any, are there Postgres ? Will be using the native driver available.
Would like to hear from you, regarding this combo.

Hi
If you do that, you will not have the automatic update of files when modifying the analysis, which in my opinion is a pain the ass.
Then of course, anything else that is specific to HFSQL will not work (from the top of my head, array of items, stored procedures, triggers, timestamps, etc)
As for all the generic stuff, no problem.
Best regards |

good luck in understanding the security and access parts .
many many years ago, I almost use PostgreSQL in a project because it support more functions compare to mysql. but I decided to use mysql. The user security and access is really complicated , do not trust default setting and first thing to do is removing public access .
you can download native access for MySQL / Maria db/ PostgreSQL . |

Hi,
I used it several years ago and it worked fine but IIRC there was at the time some different behavior regarding caching data for combo boxes in memory from data state at time of application initiation. My memory is hazy on this as it was 4-5 years ago and I only used it for a few months.

Thanks Fabrice, ccc2, steve erts.
I agree with Fabrice, we loose the main feature of Windev - HF combination. Configuring Postgres is a pain, as many says.
Let me study further.
