At least in their current French language brochure for WX 23

http://www.pcsoft-windev-webdev.com/brochureWD23.pdf

it seems that even PCSoft is reacting to the current #MeTo and #TimesUp movements.

While they still have a lot of pictures of women, they all seem to be of women dressed in casual or business casual dress and not the previous provocative clothes or poses. And they even intersperse some pictures of men as well.

All in all, while I wouldn't give it a 100% business appropriate rating, it has improved from near zero to perhaps the mid-eighties.

"Bravo PCSoft" for finally making some progress in this area.

Yeah, it took until page 5 before seeing a bathing suit.

Whats the world coming too when you can't see blatant sexism in an advertisement until page 5... :D

Yep, but those were very small pictures of a web site advertising bathing suits. A lot better than previous large pictures on almost every page of women in seductive and/or provocative poses.

At least in some companies in the US, the display of the former WinDev advertising could have been construed as creating a hostile work place.

Personally I would prefer that they focus on workplace photos of people doing work using PCSoft products or given their love of cycling, just using pictures from the Tour de France.

But this is at least a step forward in realizing that they are a global firm needing to be conscious and respectful on cultural differences.

While I never agreed with some that argued that the past advertising was "soft p*rn", it was certainly not a wise business practice in the globalized world of today.

Question. Beside this, is it worth to upgrade from wx22 to wx23?

Thx in advance for any tips.

I once had an opportunity to introduce WinDev years ago to a large company. Demo'd it to a couple of folks but was warned by them that I shouldn't because of the advertising. The company was VERY politically correct. You couldn't say the word dyke without being called into HR... even if the reference was Dykes on Trykes, a Seattle motortrike club that participates in parades.
Too bad, having Deloitte and Touche's Partner compensation program written in Wx rather than Clarion would have been big.

What!?! You mean a PROFESSIONAL brochure, like other companies? Shirley you jest... this is PCSoft!

Fabrice did a write up a few months ago on the new stuff in 23, did you see that? He seemed to be excited about a few things...

Yes found it thx Art, will you get an upgrade it as well.

For me, looks like it as I can deploy pdfReader for my clients and wpx is getting mature.
at least a workable word processor with ribbon similar to m/s word.

Thx also Fabrice for the translation.

Cheers
