Hi All

Has anyone had any experience using the Conference controls? I have managed to get it set up so that I can call between two separate computers (i.e. via the internet as well as on the same netwirk), but in both cases I get no sound being transmitted or received.

I have check the StreamPlay and Detection so should be working. Both Micos and speaker are turned on so I'm at a loss.

Any advice would be very gratefully received.

Hello Simon,

I understand that you are having trouble with the Conference controls and not getting any sound transmitted or received during a call. It seems like you have already checked the StreamPlay and Detection settings and made sure that the microphone and speakers are turned on.

One possible solution could be to check the network settings and make sure that the required ports are open and accessible for the Conference controls to work properly. You can also try testing the microphone and speakers separately to see if they are working correctly.https://www.igmguru.com/cloud-computing/microsoft-azure-developer-az-203-certification-training/

Additionally, you can try reaching out to the support team of the Conference controls provider for further assistance and troubleshooting. They may be able to provide more specific guidance based on your setup and configuration.

I hope this helps. Best of luck!

Hi Eden

Thanks for the advice. I have checked all the ports are open and have even gone to the point of turn off all the firewalls (both Windows and McAfee) to rule that out. However if it were to be a port problem, I would presume that port 29172 would also be blocking the video stream if it were the reason, yet the video is being transmitted and received fine.

Also, the app is designed for use but the elderly and digitally excluded (hence the need to have a very easy to use video conferencing facility) and so has both text->speech and speech->text (so that users can dictate messages rather that typing and reads emails etc for those with poor eyesight). Both these facilities are working on all users computers (including mine) so I know that the microphone and speakers are all configured.

I have also tested using STUN/TURN servers as well as direct connecting on network, and both havee the same result, i.e. video send and receive is fine but no audio.

PCSoft did say that someelse else had reported this problem and sent me an updated Conference .dll which I briefly tried last night be made no difference so far. I will test further later today, and if this works, I will reply here.

Why might an app be able to send and receive video perfectly but fail to transmit audio, even when all ports are open, firewalls are off, and the microphone is working fine?
