| WD+WB Vista Install Problem. |

Hi All,
We have been moving and I just now got around to installing WinDev and WebDev 12 on my Vista laptop. WebDev 12 got error messages in French about metadata et. al. But neither WinDev or WebDev will run! It loads the dll's, asks to configure the environment and says to send in the registration card and does not get any project window.
The install I did for WinDev 12 on Connie's XP works fine!
Has anyone else had this problem? |

Yes, I am logged in as an administrator user. Everything seems to work until I enter a developer name. It does verify the password since the wrong password gives an additional dialog box. When the correct password is entered, there is a Wev/WinDev.exe running at about 25% CPU that never ends.
Then if I end the process and try again, it repeats the developer setup dialog so that information is not being saved. I have tried changing the SCM to a different database (on the same machine) and installing on a different drive. All with the same results.
So it is something to do with setting up the development environment information.
WX 11 versions still work ok. So what in the world? |

| Hi, are you logged in as an administrator? Any program you run can write to any directory only in case you're an admin. If you're a user you can write to ProgramData\Company\Program only. That's it. Regards, Guenter |

Hi All,
The problem seems to be that I was using CS SCM as my Control Center. I tried creating a new one and that had the same problem. When I changed to use a network share mode, it worked.
Will have to research this further when time permits. Thanks for you inputs.
